1995
Founded in December 1995 by Davíð Kristjánsson, Ingveldur Jóhannesdóttir, Þorvaldur Þórisson and Örn Smári Kjartansson. The first smokehouse was at Skipatangi 35 in Oddeyri.
A new chapter
NORA Seafood acquired Hnýfill in 2021. The business continued to build on its foundations and craft.
Three decades
